Blogging: Top Ten Things NOT to do

In my feeble attempt at blogging over the last few months, I've learned a few things that it's not good to do. With the help of some friends, I've compiled this top-ten list of things NOT to do when blogging. Some of these, I learned from personal experience. But others, thankfully, have been lessons learned by friends. Still others are just practical pieces of advice from experienced bloggers. Hope you enjoy the list. Maybe I can put it to practice and improve my blog rep. Peace to the bloggers! I'm out!

10. Update your post once every month and a half.

9. Title the blog "SRC Stud" when you're 30 years old, graying, and fattening.

8. Create a blog, fail to tell anyone about it, then wonder why the news of your great writing hasn't simply spread through word of mouth.

7. Write a blog about a prayer request but never update the results.

6. Get blog ideas from reading the graffiti in a public bathroom.

5. Spend an hour perfecting a blog, then close out of it before clicking publish.

4. Fall asleep on the keyboarddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd.

3. Hog N' Blog. (While I certainly promote eating large quantities of food, doing so while blogging may result in sticky keys, multiple bathroom breaks, crumbs in the keyboard, and accidental eating of necessary computer peripherals)

2. Jog N' Blog. (It's pretty tough to keep the laptop steady when you're jogging through the park)

1. Nog N' Blog. (Drinking large quantities of Egg Nog while blogging may result in constipation, accidental spillage, extreme lethargy, and unneccessary gas buildup)

I hope this public service announcement will stop some of you before you make these mistakes. I am glad I found them when I did. I'm hoping this will be the start of a new commitment to healthy blogging for myself... and maybe for you too!

Worker for a better blog of tomorrow,
Matt

Talent.

It was great "having" you at the meeting last night. It was definately better than not. I think it was really special to hear from you.

This blog is fantastic.

For all my Danish friends, I'm off to Clog N' Blog.

hi matt, I got one for you: ever heard of the British term "snogging"? It means kissing or making out. Would snog n'blog make your list? Brings new meaning to "kiss and tell." On a serious note, as a prayer partner for my brother's church, I am praying for you guys.
